Sunday Sightings — Minke Magic and Dolphin Days!

Sunday morning brought a fresh ocean breeze, sunny skies, and a hint of swell on the horizon—but that didn’t stop Peregrine and our adventurous guests from having an unforgettable day on the water.
While conditions were a bit bumpy, our crew and guests embraced the ride, and we were thrilled to find not one, but two elusive minke whales—the only whale sightings reported that morning across all San Diego whale watching boats! These sleek, fast-moving whales can be hard to spot and even harder to follow, but our experienced captain and crew stayed right on them, giving everyone onboard a rare and exciting view of these mysterious creatures.
As we continued our journey, a fun and energetic pod of common dolphins joined the action. Surfing our wake, leaping through the waves, and riding alongside Peregrine, they delighted guests of all ages and brought huge smiles to the rail. Their playful nature is always a crowd favorite and a reminder of just how alive and dynamic our ocean truly is.
Even with a little chop on the sea, the day was filled with sunshine, wildlife, and a sense of ocean magic—everything that makes whale watching in San Diego so special.
