September 26th: A Dolphin-Filled Day off Point Loma Today aboard The Peregrine was truly a dolphin-lover’s dream, with an estimated 800 Long-Beaked Common Dolphins spotted throughout the day!
Right as we set out from the San Diego Bay Channel, we were greeted by a condensed, playful pod of about 200 dolphins just off Point Loma. They leapt, splashed, and surfed our bow, giving guests an unforgettable welcome to the trip. As the day continued, we encountered scattered groups across the Pacific, totaling around 600 more dolphins. Playful calves, acrobatic leaps, and bow-riding displays made for constant excitement from start to finish.
